A Word From our President
It has been more than a decade since PEECC Foundation was established on the island of Sint Maarten. We are pleased to contribute to the economic, educational, and global development of the island via our most recent project ETP for ATLAS, funded by SNAYDP.
PEECC’s ETP for ATLAS (Employment Training Program for Achievement Through Life and Academic Skills) primary mission is to provide empowerment training for youth between the ages of 16 - 24. The training nurtures their positive growth and development, and meets their educational and cultural needs. The six month employment training program includes workplace and educational skills with instruction in anger management, conflict resolution, stress reduction, self esteem and confidence building, career development and interviewing techniques, drug and health education and prevention (HIV/AIDS, Tobacco, and Alcohol related illnesses) and setting goals/establishing priorities.
Over the years, our mission changed to fit the growing and various needs of the target youth population we serve.
PEECC youth programs and outreach services are available to participants in structured classroom training, interactive web-based applications and workplace experience. As the individual participant utilization rate of those services improves, we will thereby improve the quality of life for the entire family. PEECC’s programs provide measurable success, reducing the illiteracy rate, criminal activity, and unemployment of targeted communities. PEECC’s ETP for ATLAS offers youth empowerment and behavioral modification training that prevents youth from developing negative social habits that lead to increased criminal activity in our communities.
